We are happy to announce the Finnish Lapphund Club of Canada recieved CKC club  accreditation Jun 22, 2009.
We will be hosting our first sanction match in Winnipeg MB at the Hi-Flyer  building on October 4th, 2009. This is the weekend before the Fort Garry Show.

As a requirement our Obedience and Conformation match are both sanctioned. We are offering Puppy Sweeps for all the new little ones that want to try out the ring and will have prizes and refreshements all day too !

Shadagrace Kennel (Skyla x Oakley)

Gloria Beaudin, Lynn Drumm and Cathy Pollack are happy to announce another addition of another Finnish Lapphund here in the USA and Canada. Cathy Pollack has just arrived from Finland bringing with her Peikkovuoren Niiskuneiti, a stunningly beautiful black & tan 9 week old female daughter of Fin Ch. Lumiturpa Eppu and Peikkovuoren Finlanddia.

On July 6, 2007, Sugarok Amazing Grace owned by Gloria Beaudin (Shadagrace Kennel) made history by becoming the first Finnish Lapphund at a Canadian Kennel Club show to receive Best of Breed! This follows the changes in the CKC that by 1st of July, the breed can compete in CKC sponsored dog shows.

SUGAROK ASPEN owned by Janice Thomaschewski (My Side Kick Kennel) has officially made history by being the first Finnish Lapphund with a CKC Championship!

Aspen's championship was won at the Manitoba Canine Association Dog Show sponsored by the Portage Kennel Club held last August 9-12, 2007

On December 15, 2006, CKC have announced the results of the members's poll in regards to what breeds of dog  would be categorized as a "listed breed".  This followed the elimination of the CKC Miscellaneous Group.

 Finnish Lapphund have been approved to be a listed breed and is group under Group 7 Herding Group.

 The complete list of dog breeds that are categorized as listed breed are as follows
